Riding Lessons & Experiences for Kids

Just for Kids

Fun and educational options for young riders.

Kids love Papillon! Our ponies are patient and well trained to give young riders an enjoyable introduction to riding and horse care. There are a number of options available for your children to learn the basics of horse riding and horse care, right through to specific training in dressage and jumping.

Kids Private Lessons From $90

Kids' private lessons allow for one-on-one tuition and are an excellent way to focus on acquiring or improving riding skill.

Kids' private lessons are held in one of the Centre’s arenas and run for half an hour (including mounting, dismounting, warming up and cooling down time). You can choose a specific coach (see Papillon coaches) or choose a time that suits you and we will match you with an available coach. Private lessons can cover the basics (getting on, getting off, sitting on a horse, walking, steering, rising trot, changing direction, cantering) or they can be used to refine existing skills and to work on more advanced movements.

Pony Party in Centennial Park $250 per pony

Why not have your next child’s birthday party in the beautiful surroundings of Centennial Parklands?

You can make the party even more special by inviting a pony or two! One of our instructors will bring the pony to the horse track and you can set the birthday party nearby to make it easier for the children to take turns for their ride. The pony party is 1 hour and we recommend to hiring 1 horse for 7-8 kids.

Stable Day Experience $220 Per Child

Whether your child already has some experience with horses and riding, or if they are a total beginner, the Stable Day is an ideal introductory experience.

If your child, teenager or young adult is interested in horses and horse riding, or wants to learn more about horses, and how to care after them the Stable Day includes a 1h private lesson + 1h park ride and your child gets to spend the entire day with one of our qualified coaches.

Junior Riding Camp $550

These popular 3-day camps are suitable for young children (6yo+) and teenagers who would like an introduction to horses and riding. Every day the kids will have a park ride (weather permitting) and a group lesson.
